Côte-des-Neiges, Mount Royal and Outremont
With the imposing silhouette of St. Joseph’s Oratory as a backdrop, this neighborhood is frequently described as a student district with the Université de Montréal campus and its Polytechnique and HEC schools. Steps away from the mountain and in the heart of some of the city’s most multi-ethnic areas, Côte-des-Neiges is an important neighborhood on Montreal’s west side, bursting with restaurants, boutiques, and community initiatives. No fewer than 9 metro stations take you there, plus the new 711 bus that climbs Mont-Royal and goes all the way to the Oratory.

Old-Montreal
The oldest area of the city, Old Montreal is a lively historic neighborhood with a wide-ranging selection of shops, restaurants, bars, historic sites and public spaces. During your visit, take in one of the many public squares—Place d’Armes and Place Jacques Cartier are two of the best. Shop in the 150-year-old Bonsecours Market, the oldest and largest public market in Montreal. Check out notable sites such as the stunning Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal and Montreal Town Hall, as well as the Pointe-à-Callière Archeology and History Museum and the Science Centre.

Quartier des spectacles
Within the 1-square-kilometre district, there’s always something happening. With more than eight public spaces, the Quartier hosts more than 40 festivals and events annually. You can enjoy music, shows, or experiences all year-round. The Luminous Pathway, the architectural lighting and video projects on the facade of numerous buildings are some things with can enjoy just by waling in the Quartier. Walking tours are available for those who wish to explore the creativity and history of the Quartier.

Plateau and Mile-End
The Plateau-Mont-Royal is one of Montreal’s trendiest neighborhoods, known for its lively shopping streets, many trendy bars and restaurants, and festive atmosphere. It’s also home to numerous parks, such as Parc Lafontaine, which are popular places to stroll and enjoy beautiful summer days. The Plateau is also home to many artists and the LGBTQ+ community.
Mile End is one of Montreal’s hottest neighborhoods, known for its independent boutiques, art galleries and trendy cafés. It’s also home to the Jewish General Hospital, an internationally renowned research center. Mile End is also renowned for its independent music scene and alternative music festivals.

Flavour is the name of Little Italy and Villeray’s game. Both neighbourhoods are home to all sorts of hot restaurants and other incredible food options, as well as diverse cultural and family activities, shops and architecture. Soak up a good dose of Italian style and substance around Jean-Talon Market, then explore further afield – Villeray has amazing Latin food, as well as brunch spots, cheese shops, designer homeware enclaves and so much more.
Eat, drink and be Maria
You’ll be praying at the altar of pizza after a couple of hours in this neighbourhood! Little Italy and the larger Villeray have good food at their very core, but they’re also a shopper’s delight – a cosmopolitan district packed with things to see and cool stuff to consume (one way or another). There are two rendez-vous points you can choose from for this event on June 2, 2024:
- Brunch anytime between 10h30 to 12h30 at Eggspectations located at 1313 Boul de Maisonneuve O, Montreal QC H3G 2R9
- Directly in front of the Museum located at 1380 Sherbrooke Street West, Montreal QC H3G 1J5 (two corners away from Eggspectations) anytime between 12h30 and 13h.
Entrance is free! Wear good shoes because we will be walking quite a bit in the Museum.
